The long and narrow promontory located near Main Beach is known as The Spit where the sensational Sea World Drive extends north all the way along with it. On the eastern side of The Spit, is the area known as Philip Park, which has walkway paths are popular amongst nature lovers, backpackers, and romantic couples. On the north-western corner of The Spit is yet another fantastic park called the Doug Jennings Park featuring a jetty that extends 500 metres out to sea.
Surfers Paradise Beach itself offers all of the fun in the sun entertainment, a beach lover could possibly ask for. There is free volleyball, craft markets every Friday night, boat ramps, ferry cruises, various shopping strips, and parks.
The ever-adaptable Broadbeach located south of Surfers Paradise offers modern beach goers a myriad of comforts. With an adjacent park offering visitors a wealth of greenery, parking, picnicking, barbecue facilities, and the Kurrawa Surf Lifesaving Club. Also, along the streets bordering the snow-white sands are many quaint street side cafes, restaurants, and shopping boutiques.
